From the Desk of CEO Yoshinori Ono #44

Hey there! I'm Yoshinori Ono, CEO at Lasengle.
Welcome to my blog and thanks for dropping by!

So Fellow Hunters, how's your quest to keep peace in the Forbidden Lands going?

I've been grinding away collecting and farming resources, which explains my lack of updates here lately.

Surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly!), the PlayStation Portal has become my MVP, letting me squeeze in quick hunts via remote play during downtime instead of being tied to my TV.

After playing this game night after night, and even sneaking some hunting time at the office, I'm more and more convinced that even though we're still in March, Monster Hunter Wilds could be one of the best titles of 2025.

So, if you're looking for something new to start this spring, come join the hunt in Monster Hunter Wilds!

Speaking of passions, how many of you are doing oshikatsu? (For those of you who don't know, oshikatsu is the Japanese social phenomenon describing activities that show your devotion to your favorite person, character, or entity - your "oshi".)

In FGO, oshikatsu can take many forms: supporting a Servant as your oshi, going to Fes events, or picking up some merch.

Thinking back to when I was a kid, I definitely had my favorites. My favorite power ranger in the Super Sentai shows, my favorite idol in that girls band, my favorite manga heroine, favorite plane, favorite car... And I'd say my feelings were closer to devotion than a passing interest.

Not much has changed since I grew up. I still express my fanboy love in the same way.

This is why I'm grateful we now have a term like oshikatsu. It makes it easier for us to embrace this love and publicly celebrate our passions. It really is a great era to be living in!

At the end of January, I attended the Taipei Game Show 2025, where FGO hosted a booth and stage event.

The Taipei Game Show is another great venue for oshikatsu.

I get the sense that major video and mobile gaming shows are on the decline, so events like the Taipei Game Show, which this year drew an impressive 370,000 visitors, are all the more precious. Sure, all of this could all be done online. But nothing replaces the live experience for true oshikatsu.

In February, I visited the FGO Satellite Station in Okayama. It was our first event in Okayama, and we weren't certain about attendance but we had a great turnout from many Masters, for which I'm truly grateful.

Like the Taipei Game Show, it was another reminder of the irreplaceable value of meeting people face to face.

March brought the annual AnimeJapan festival where our FGO booth featured a stage setup and videos chronicling FGO's journey.

We also ran a digital stamp rally at satellite booths throughout the venue.

The plan was to have prize draws for visitors who'd completed their stamp card, but somehow all the best rewards got claimed super early on. Definitely something we need to work on for next time!

My family all scored FGO pocket tissues as consolation prizes. Perfect timing for the spring allergy season!

Nothing beats oshikatsu, right? And since this is the "From the CEO's Desk" blog, I'm sharing my own oshikatsu: in April I'll be attending both days of TM Network's Yokohama Arena shows. Calling all fellow Fanks! Let's make this 41st anniversary concert unforgettable!
