Hey there! I'm Yoshinori Ono, CEO at Lasengle.
Welcome to my blog and thanks for dropping by!
I've got some jaw-dropping news for you all:
Hiroki Totoki, the President, COO, and CFO of the Sony Group Corporation, paid a visit to the Lasengle office!!!
It began with an email from Hiroki telling us he'd like to drop in and see Lasengle's "normal working environment." For a company that's barely reached its fourth year, this was going to be a major event.
For starters, I needed to consider how literally we should take his request for "normal."
I mean, we couldn't have him drop by when everyone's on a break, so the visit needed a bit of pre-planning--while still keeping our regular vibe.
We decided that on the big day, we'd make sure that all our Office Style team were at their workstations, and everyone on our Home Style team was signed in remotely. That way, we'd all be around to answer questions and let Hiroki get a feel for who we are.
With our plan in place, the day we'd been waiting for finally arrived. On a sunny July morning, we welcomed the Hiroki to the Lasengle office.
We gave him the grand tour of the FGO development environments, for both the Japan version and the international version. We also invited him to sit in on planning meetings where we discussed future operations and development. Hopefully, this gave him a good overview of how the FGO magic happens behind the scenes.
He also got a sneak peek of a couple of titles and projects that haven't been announced to the public yet.
This also gave us the perfect chance to show how we're incorporating tech developed by other Sony Group experts in our gaming title research.
When you look at the whole of the Sony Group, our 300-strong team is a relatively small development studio. Having this chance to show top management what makes us great, despite our size, was huge. We were able to showcase our multifaceted approach, our stellar track record, our plans for the next five years, all while giving plenty of time to our current title developments.
We wrapped up the visit with an interactive demonstration of how we're using Sony's spatial reality display (SRD) in entertainment development training for our 2024 new-graduate hires. All in all, I think the visit was a success!
Like I said, it's a big deal and a huge honor to have top management come and visit Lasengle, especially when we're not exactly the biggest studio within the Sony Group. With only four years under our belt, we're still the new kid on the block, but I'm taking this as a positive sign that our team's hard work, our positive performance and our ambitious plans are turning heads in the right places.
And that's the kind of energy we're looking for in new talent.
If you're thinking, "I'd love to join Lasengle in making games!" then watch this space because we're gearing up for a new hiring season of seasoned pros and 2026 graduates soon.
Until next time!
