From the Desk of CEO Yoshinori Ono #36: Happy New Year!

Hey there! I'm Yoshinori Ono, CEO at Lasengle.
Welcome to my blog and thanks for dropping by!

Happy New Year and Akemashite Omedeto!!
Here's to another year of Fate/Grand Order and to gaming and creating at Lasengle!

In May 2021, before Lasengle existed, I was made COO of Delightworks. I had experience leading dev teams, projects, and organizations, but it was my first time to be placed at the head of a whole company. For the team at Delightworks, I was an unknown entity. Most were probably thinking, "Who the hell is this old-timer??" and wondering what was going to happen next.

In December 2021, we announced that the game dev and ops division would split off from Delightworks as a separate company within the Sony Group, under Sony Music Entertainment / Aniplex Inc.

Then, in February 2022, with a name gifted from the legendary Kinoko Nasu, we started our new voyage as Lasengle.

It's been two and half years since I took the wheel, and two years since we set off as Lasengle. Since day one, I've taken every opportunity to talk to my team about our ultimate goal and the paths we're on to get there, to make sure that we create a culture and vibe that suits us.

Our ultimate goal is expressed by our slogan "Doki Doki wo Sekai e" (Excite the world). We want to inject our brand of "doki doki" and excitement into games, for players across the globe.

And as we carve out our paths towards that goal, we pack in our satchel the four Cs: Change, Challenge, Chance and Confide.

Slogans can sometimes become empty words but here at Lasengle, everyone is taking these words to heart, and thinking how we can get to the next stage, and what we need to continue on our voyage. I feel very fortunate to have such an amazing team!

If even just a small part of this gets across to players, then I couldn't be happier. But, if we're not quite there yet, we'll keep trying to get the message across and I hope you'll  stick with us to watch us grow and develop.

As the president, it's my personal goal to do everything we can to live up to our slogan, and bring that philosophy to dev, ops, and everything we do, to a level where no one is in any doubt about what we stand for here at Lasengle.

Over the past year, as concerns about the pandemic lessened, we've proactively held a variety of different events at Lasengle.

In summer we hosted a huge BBQ party, and more recently, we had a dinner party to celebrate the end of the year.

End of year company parties and get-togethers are a big tradition in Japan, but I've heard that recently, employees are less keen to attend these kinds of events.

At Lasengle, we don't force anyone to come, people are free to do as they like. So, the fact that 96% of our team members decided to join us really made my day. It says a lot about the culture we have at Lasengle and it was a reminder that we're all on this journey together.

In the same vein of being in it together, the in-house awards for 2023 were not chosen by managers, but  determined by all the employees. The whole event was so much fun and I think we all felt a real sense of unity as a team.

So yep, this is who we are. This is the ship Lasengle!
