Hey there! I'm Yoshinori Ono, COO at Delightworks.
Welcome to my blog and thanks for dropping by!
So, did you see that December 15th announcement? If not, you can check the Japanese release here, but long story short, the Delightworks game development division is moving to a newly established company, and I'll be heading it up!
We'll be taking charge of Fate/Grand Order as well as currently on-going services and titles, and our key devs and operators will be joining me in the move. It's an exciting development for me and the team, and I hope you'll stick with us and keep giving us your support!
I've been in gaming for around 30 years now and aside from the ocean and hot springs, it's my biggest passion. I wake up every day amazed that I get to do this for a living, and I'm so lucky that playing games is not only a hobby, but a huge part of my job. So I thought why not share what I'm playing in a blog...and here it is.
My blog is not about strategies or hardcore reviews. It's more to give you a casual peek at what I'm playing, let you know what kind of games I'm into, and maybe tempt you into giving it a go yourself.
We're kicking off the blog with game #1, Inscryption.
Did you celebrate the holidays when you were a kid? I know I did. I can remember the exact moment when I figured out how those presents appeared at the foot of my bed (spoiler alert: there were no chimneys or magic involved). I think that was when I first understood the difference between what is real, and what is fantasy.
But what's that got to do with Inscryption?

Well, Inscryption is a game, and like most games, it's a whole different reality to our actual lives. No matter how bad things are in-game, we come out unscathed. No matter how much we wince as our onscreen self gets pummeled, or we cry out, "Please! No more! Mercy! Mercy!", we can keep on playing (and suffering!) because it's just a game. Somewhere in our subconscious we understand that our onscreen reality and offscreen realities are different.
Inscryption blurs the line. It punches you with a fist of imagination that shakes you up, making you rethink everything you thought you knew (I'm talking figurative punches here, it's not actually a fighting game.) And the more you play, the deeper you get sucked into its world, until suddenly, you're just flooded with love for the game.
Everyone seems to have a different take on Inscryption, and the more you read, the more confused you'll get. My advice is to just ignore it all, jump in, and see what you make of it.
Inscryption is the kind of game that you won't understand how awesome it is, until you play it. Once you've given it a go, let me know what you thought!
That's my take on Inscryption!
Thanks for reading.
The next game is calling my name so gotta go--till next time!
